Lush, deep and dark, with impeccable structure, the Reserve Block Cabernet belongs in any serious collector’s cellar.

The one-acre reserve block is the crown jewel on our 10-acre Oak Knoll estate. Well-drained rocky, alluvial soils at a bend in Dry Creek yield Cabernet Sauvignon of great pigment, tremendous intensity and classic structure. This section is planted to Bordeaux clone 337, a selection renowned for producing complex, black-fruit character and rich concentration.

Winemaker Notes
Meticulously selected, then hand harvested and sorted, this is the ultimate expression of the terroir here on our estate vineyard. Four days “cold soak” assures maximum color and flavor extraction and fine, elegant tannins. Nineteen months in French oak beautifully frames this remarkably opulent, complex vintage.

2007 Vintage
A textbook growing season of warm days and cool nights – only time will tell if it surpasses the outstanding 1997 vintage.

Tasting Notes
Dense and nearly black at its core, the wine is richly perfumed with ripe black plum, dusty blackberry, espresso and tobacco. Lush, concentrated flavors spill out of the glass: Black cherry, cocoa, turned earth and a judicious touch of tasty oak. Flawlessly balanced with an endless, mocha-fruity finish, this wine is structured to last.
